I was incredibly excited to find out that my latest short story placed 2nd in the 3rd quarter Writers of the Future Contest. This means I’ll be flying to Los Angeles next March for a week long writing course run by best selling science fiction and fantasy authors.
My story will also be published in next year’s Writers of the Future anthology. And this will be my first professional sale.
The Writers of the Future Contest runs four times a year, and is open to writers who have not had more than two professional short story publications. It’s an international competition that attracts thousands of entries from around the world each quarter. For more information about the latest results, see here.
My latest horror short story, ‘The Photographs’, was published in the June edition of Andromeda Spaceways Magazine.
‘The Photographs’ is set in the Australian country town I grew up in, drawing inspiration from some of the old, creepy farm houses I used to encounter back then.
